GAONNURI Featured in Time Out New York

“New York City’s heavyweight restaurants were once all about their opulent settings and glorious views, even with a star chef in the kitchen. Dinner in those days—we’re talking Manhattan’s rip-roaring, pre-9/11 era—could be a full-fledged event, before picnic benches replaced velvety armchairs, back when caviar still trumped rooftop kale. At high-rise hot spots like Windows on the World and the Rainbow Room, the food could be terrific or awful, but either way those top-of-the-world dining rooms would be packed with hobnobbing patrons dressed to the nines.

Gaonnuri, in that context, is a serious throwback: the first restaurant atop a skyscraper to open in ages, thanks to a $5 million investment from its financier owner. Located on the 39th floor of a Koreatown tower, the sleek space offers some amazing sights of a twinkling skyline—newly appreciated post-Sandy—through its wraparound windows. But the cooking, it turns out, is spectacular too. The Korean classics are among the best in the city, and, refreshingly, at not much more than sea-level prices.”

President Obama’s Favorite Korean Food? Bulgogi!

President Barack Obama’s favorite Korean food is said to be Bulgogi which he enjoyed it very much in Seoul, South Korea, where 2010 G-20 summit was held. During the luncheon, Obama showed how comfortable he was with Korean chopsticks and repeatedly complimented Korean dishes.

When he mentioned the concern on weight gaining from various Asian delicacies he had been enjoying throughout the trip of summits in China, Japan and now in Korea, President Lee assured him that Korean dishes are LOW in calories and non-fattening.

FYI, here is what two leaders had.

Main Course:

Susam-haemul-gyeojachae (seafood and ginseng served in mustard sauce), Bulgogi, Barbecued beef, Bibimbap, Bukeo dufu tang (tofu soup)

Side dishes (Banchan):

Kimchi, Mulkimchi (water kimchi), Assorted Spinach, Tangpyungchae (seasoned herb with mung bean starch jelly), Jangjorim (beef brisket marinated and pickled in sweet soy sauce and ginger), Dashima-toegak (fried kelp)

For its unique and authentic flavor, Bulgogi was the most popular Korean dish for many international quests.

At miss Korea, we serve our proud signature Bulgogi with top quality prime Angus beef marinated with our special home made sauce.

Taste it for yourself that the top leaders at summit thumbed up, here at miss Korea BBQ restaurant in New York City!
